  • ๐Ÿ“ท April 2024 Micro.Blog photo challenge, Day 2: Flowers

White bell-shaped flowers (lily of the valley) hanging from a curved stem amid broad green leaves; a white wall in the background.

Lily of the Valley has always been my favorite flower. Some of my earliest memories are of me and Grandma, picking them on a shady hill at her old house. My Partner planted a ton of them in the backyard a few years ago. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŒผ #mbapr

  • ๐Ÿ“ท April 2024 Micro.Blog photo challenge, Day 1: Toy

A small dog rests beside a cinched plush toy resembling a log, in a room with a record collection.

Russell was never all that fond of them but he would occasionally get a toy; he absolutely destroyed the squirrels inside the log. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿถ #mbapr

Note: This post was backdated, as I missed the first day.

  • Dinner tonight… ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿ“ท

Sushi rolls in a tray with condiments; wasabi, pickled ginger, and soy sauce on the side, on a patterned fabric background.
  • Morning coffee with a morning view… โ˜•๏ธโ„๏ธ๐Ÿ”๏ธ๐Ÿ“ท

  • Someone else didn’t want to wake up this morning either… ๐Ÿˆ ๐Ÿฅฑ ๐Ÿ“ท

  • I have a complicated relationship with Valentines Day. ๐Ÿค” No, it’s not actually complicated, I just hate it. ๐Ÿ˜…

So, I was shocked to see what my Partner left for me this morning. ๐Ÿ“ท

A metal bucket filled with ice and green bottled beverages on a countertop with a note, with heart stickers, reading: A Bucket* of goodies just for you on this Hallmark Holiday (*its pronounced 'Bouquet')

He really is too sweet. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป

(In my defense, we did go out on Monday to “celebrate” the fake holiday.)

  • Decided to escape the house for a bit of nature with the Partner; in our defense, the sun was out when we started on our walk. ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒฅ๏ธ

It was a lovely walk, about four miles, in a local city park. ๐Ÿ“ท

  • I can’t believe it’s been a year since we said goodbye to Russell. The pain has faded a little but it feels like it’s been both an eternity but also just the blink of an eye since we said our farewells to our little puppy-rabbit. ๐Ÿ’”

    Lots of tears today… ๐Ÿ˜ญ

We miss you, we still miss you. ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ“ท

  • Finally got around to installing an “extender” SATA card into my media server, to add more drives…and of course, it doesn’t work. ๐Ÿ˜ค ๐Ÿ’พ ๐Ÿ“ท

An open computer case displays components and wiring. A spinning fan is visible on a motherboard lit by blue LEDs.
  • The “view” from inside the front door this morning. ๐Ÿฅถ๐ŸงŠ๐Ÿ“ท

Ice obscure the view through a window, hinting at an outdoor scene with blurred colors.
  • Went skiing earlier, the first time in seven years. We had a great time but good grief, I’m sore…where is a hot-tub when you need one?! ๐Ÿคฃโ›ท๏ธ๐Ÿ“ท

(Not pictured: the massive amount of beginners on the slopes, they were everywhere, crashing into everything. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ)

A red snow groomer with a front blade is parked on a snowy surface, near pine trees and a clear sky overhead. A snowy ski slope with skiers and a chairlift, surrounded by trees under a blue sky with wispy clouds. Skiers descend a snowy slope with trees and clear skies. Skiers disembark from a chairlift atop a snowy hill. A snowy landscape with skiers on slopes and a chairlift, amidst leafless trees against a cloudy sky. Ski lift chairs ascend above a snowy slope with skiers; textured clouds and a setting sun provide the backdrop.
  • I had a craving earlier today and yea, it isnโ€™t healthy at all but as itโ€™s 10ยฐF, so eating bad food doesnโ€™t count. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿฅถ

A slice of cheese pizza rests on a blue-and-white patterned plate, with a granular topping, possibly Parmesan, on a kitchen counter with a calendar in the background.

It would have been better if we went to Chicago but the pizza was still dang tasty! ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ“ท

  • We normally take down Christmas on January 6th (growing up, we’d leave Christmas up until Epiphany) but given the craziness of last weekend (trip to the theater, an engagement party, chores, & migraines), we just didn’t get to it…so tonight is it, say farewell to the Home Alone house. ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ“ท

A miniature house (the Home Alone house, in Lego form), filled with lights, and van on a snowy landscape, surrounded by trees, with the website address 'lostinhaste.com' displayed as a watermark.
  • Snowfall and a Show

Over the weekend, my Partner and I were offered tickets to see Mrs. Doubtfire at the local theater. ๐ŸŽญ It was an unexpected treat (our friends had just come back from London and were rather jet-lagged), both the show and the holiday decoration in the theater.๐ŸŽ„ ๐Ÿ“ท It was also the first serious snowfall โ€ฆ read more

  • Whilst out walking on my lunch break, I saw some winter lettuce. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ ๐Ÿฅฌ ๐Ÿ“ท

Three different types of winter lettuce, along with fallen leaves, in a galvanized metal container.

It was good to get out of the house for some fresh air; I really need to do more of that this Winter.
