Movies 🍿

  • 🍿 Date Night: we decided to watch a movie neither of us had seen and as we’ve been watching Fawlty Towers lately, we ended up on A Fish Called Wanda. By the end, our sides were hurting from all the laughing; 🀣 this movie is beyond absurd, in all the best possible ways.

  • 🍿 Date Night: Greek food and Sleepless in Seattle. It was my first time seeing it and yes, I would totally watch it again.

  • 🍿 In honor of Glynis Johns passing a few days ago, we watched The Court Jester tonight. It was an absolute riot, a musical comedy that spoofs elements of Robin Hood and had us laughing the entire time.

  • 🍿 For our last movie of the night, we’re watching Make the Yuletide Gay. As with most LGBTQ movies made in that era, it isn’t the greatest of movies but it is our Christmas Eve tradition. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸŽ„

  • 🍿 This movie has grown on me since last year, Spirited is kicking off the movie viewing experience of Christmas Eve. Three stars…but that might change once this movie is over. πŸŽ„

  • 🍿 Ended up doing a double-feature tonight and watched the Christmas Setup, a lovely holiday movie. πŸŽ„ It’s sappy but I do love seeing LGBTQ movies hitting the mainstream. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

  • 🍿 We watched a Christmas Story tonight. πŸŽ„ It isn’t my favorite movie but my Partner loves it, so every year we watch it.

  • 🍿 Decided on a second movie tonight: The Holiday Sitter. πŸŽ„ It’s a silly Hallmark holiday movie but it’s rather adorable and kinda nice to see my people represented in the genre. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ We’ll be adding this to our Holiday movie rotation.

  • 🍿 Full of mac ‘n cheese, in honor of Kevin’s meal during the movie. This is my Partner’s favorite movie, even after more than 30 years, it has reviewability. πŸŽ„

I suspect I’m going to start decorating for Christmas tomorrow; it’s been a rough year and I could use the extra “holiday” time. πŸŽ„

  • 🍿 “It’s just a little Hocus Pocus!" πŸ“·
    β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜†β˜†

The movie 'Hocus Pocus' projected up on the side of a house at night, frozen at the title screen of the movie for the picture. In the lower-left corner of the image, a glowing fire, and in the upper-left of the image, the fading light of the setting sun.

An annual tradition with my Girls from University, we started watching the movie (and pigging out) outside during the Pandemic and have just kept that as part of our Autumn event.
